I heard we have a TA, and the MEC is waiting for MGMT to sign off. Supposedly, the company has met our demands, and DAL has exercised 30 options. Also news of another code share is stapled to the TA.

My take-

1- New TA with better work rules and compensation than the failed TA.
2- 30 options exercised by DAL.
3- UAL or Frontier codeshare.
4- Republic? I honestly don't know. My guess would be either they change our name and we become Republic or it goes away. I remember hearing something about 1 seniority list and REP formed solely for codeshare purposes. This giving our senior guys the ability to move over there first.

**One thing I would like to say, everything I have written above is strictly rumor or opinion on my behalf and some of my fellow pilots at CHQ. This is some of the stuff the way I SEE IT! Take this information and run with it but please understand- no one at CHQ is committed at this point to believing any of it. WE CAN'T, IT HASN'T BEEN CONFIRMED!**
5- Furloughees? I would assume they are included in the deal. They have to be for us to sign off-period. I feel our pilot group has made that clear.

Thats all folks........

FOR NOW!

That's great news or I mean rumor! I'm sure everyone is excited to hear the union's special message at the end of the week. All of us furloughee's are looking forward to getting back to work and hopefully watching the seniority list grow behind us.

When you say "30 options" for Delta, do you mean 30 more planes for the DCI side? I guess that is what you mean, right? Boy, the ASA and Comair people must love that......

Bye Bye--General Lee:cool:

Here is a fact everyone will enjoy.......several of our furloughs just received their recall letters today. The recall is Oct 1st.

general, I am not going to get into a pissing match with you about asa and comair. We do not fault any of our competitors for being wholly owned. Thats just the way it is. ASA and Comair may have issues for their respective MEC's to take up with mainline DAL. It does not concern us and we wish them all the luck in the world.

What we are concerned with is a fair contract, growth potential, and having a great place to work.

We are striving toward that every minute of every day, until we get it all worked out.

Oh and yes, 30 more for DCI!

Embraerdriver,

I am not trying to get you into that pissing match. I was just wondering what was happening. Obviously Chataqua has the cash to buy more planes right now, and DCI wants more planes. If it helps Delta's bottom line, I am all for it. It is amazing how you guys have grown at DFW lately, and the MCO growth is good too. Yes, I remember flying Express 737's to some of those cities, and maybe if your loads increase, they might change some back to mainline someday. Regardless, a lot of your passengers end up on our planes, and that is a good thing. I hope you get a great contract and your furloughs come back---and thanks again for helping us with some of our furloughs.

Bye Bye--General Lee:cool:

Jdru25....

any word on how many letters were sent out? theres 62 origionals....(i believe 30 took voluntary) Also, about the Oct. 1st, anything about what they have to do first? (a refresher of any kind?)

I don't know the exact count on recall letters but hopefully I'll know more as I talk to my fellow classmates. I'll be sure to post more once I can get more information.

I stopped in CHQ HQ last week to get some of my travel crap during my fun filled furlough... the ladies in there said that only 42 folks actually hit the street. I sure hope that the recall is under way.... I'm the last guy out.

so hows the pizza delivery goin jack?:p

relax, im only 4 numbers ahead of you...when they call me to indy im gonna want some pizza tho, ron still owes me 4 bucks!

In response to the first post, im thinking thats to much of a best case scenario. Something had to be bargained in the negotiations for something to change so drastically in one month. Perhaps everyone has gotten excited and created a snowball effect of rumors? Any thoughts?

PS. I sure hope its all true though!

I'm starting to think the same thing..."If it's too good to be true..."

If we do get an excellent TA, we need to guard against triumphalism. Conversally, we need to remain united if the TA is unsat. Remember, it is the EC's job (legally, AFAIK) to "sell" the TA to the group. A little healthy skepticism is always in order.

We must consider the TA very carefully, even if there are things in there that we do not necessarily like.

Our EC has been working long and hard on this TA and stood their ground for a long time on a number of issues. My take on the situation is that they would not agree to put out a TA unless they felt it was the absolute best they could do.

With that in mind, don't vote in a POS, but leave yourself open to semi-undesirable clauses that may be included.

:)

The back peddling begins.

The back peddling begins.
I remember when Comair finally agreed to something and the strike ended. This board was filled with many saying, THANKS FOR NOTHING COMAIR! and so on....A contract is not going to please all, and its very easy for someone who has no strings attached to the situation to say, HEY you guys failed. We all know now that Comair has one of the most desireable contract in the regional industry. To negotiate there must be some give in take, so a good agreement for the company is going to be an acceptable comprimise by both sides.

there will be no back peddling at chq...

We are not a bunch of spinless bastards that many of you reading this post are-you know who I'm talking to.

WE stand behind our union guys 100%, and they know this.

WE gave them our support with a 94% strike vote, they are doing the right thing.

UNITY!!

B

P.S. they know if they try to put out a sh_t TA that there will be mutiny-heads will roll...

Hey, if you have ever seen a PERFECT contract, let me know. I'd like to take a look at it.

This is all a game of give and take.

This is mostly getting the cart before the horse since a TA has not been officially announced, though from speaking with the EC something is on the table that is agreed upon, but since it has not been 100% approved by both sides (meaning legal has not signed off), it cannot be called a TA. But this is just what I know now.

I would have to agree with most of the fellow CHQ pilot's here. A contract will not please everyone. I do firmly believe that the current EC took the old TA as a baseline to improve. I do not believe they would send anything to us that would include poor wording, subpar benefits, giving up what we have now (ie giving them junior manning in exchange for benefits), or low compensation. I do believe we were looking for at least parity with the industry, but that becomes harder as time goes on. Republic I do believe is being delt with because it was a major point with the EC. Republic Airlines may continue to exsist, but I would guess a one list policy for RAH may be coming. You could cross bid into Republic and back to CHQ, but there would be one master list between the two and the contract would cover both airlines.

Why a possible sudden swing of events? I guessing (and all speculation) the time is running out for management. If they have deals with airlines on the table then they eventually have to announce them. It would explain the extreme tactics they have used in the past few months. Furloughing and downgrading pilots when scheduling cannot cover trips due to lack of coverage doesn't make sense, except to try to get the pilots to fall into line. Messages from the Company with exactly how many jobs were lost (or not added) because we authorized a strike vote. Direct letters to employees with packages of compensation from other regionals to point out that were are asking for too much and our EC is not doing any good for us. It seems management is trying to fight a major battle and pulling out all the stops. I do believe we have stood firm and will make up our minds with what is put on the table. Our EC knows we would rather take this to the limit than agree to a substandard package. I put my faith in them, but what has transpired will not be known until it is in writing.

Until then, I'll get my passengers from piont A to B as safetly and as comfortably as possible. When I do receive a TA, I'll sit down and read it cover to cover. I will weigh the good and the bad and vote how I will. This is a benchmark contract for CHQ. We are no where near the same company we were when the last contract was signed. This will set what the contracts our airline (Chautauqua) has to work with for many years to come. I can see why both sides have been bitter because they know the ramifications this will have on the future course of the airline. I will take the future pilots here into consideration after (hopefully) I am gone. This is a major turning point for Chautauqua. I just hope I can look back and hope I made a positive impact.
