So he forgot license, flew the trip, THEN self reported? The minute he operated that aircraft as a required pilot he knowingly broke the regs, therefore he's really going to screw himself if that is the case. Don't you guys have the exemption that allows you to operate without a license in case it gets lost?

I guess if he just flew his trip and discovered his license laying on his counter when he got done, not realizing he's been flying without it up until that point, I could see that as acceptable for asap. Still, why on earth would you report that? Geeeze. Your last sentence says it all.
