CAL B738 Command Positions
Please find following a summary precis for positions IAC currently has available with China Airlines (CAL) for B738 Captains AVAILABLE IMMEDIATELY. CAL stipulates that all applicants require a minimum of 750 PIC hours on the B737NG (full function time and not ICUS/Cruise Captain/Relief Captain time), 1,500 commercial PIC hours and 6,000 total flying hours. You must have flown the B737NG within the last 9 months (the requirement is for actual line operation on type during this time).
With the Asian meltdown, the monthly remuneration was reduced by 20% to US$6,640 gross/month. This has now been increased substantially to US$7,600 gross/month. We believe that the IAC package is by far the most competitive and attractive on the market for positions with CAL and also for B738 Captains in the worldwide market.
CAL B738 Captains:
Term: Five years – thereafter renewable
Base: Taipei (TPE)
Monthly Remuneration: - US$7,600 gross/month inclusive. May revert to original level dependent upon CAL’s financial situation. Paid off-shore by the 10th of the following month.
- Based on 70 flying hrs/month, overtime payable monthly in arrears.
- Housing allowance for TPE based Captains US$1,050/month
Seniority Bonus: - US$100/month for each year after 2 years (up to 6 years)
CP/LIP/SIP Check Pilots receive an additional US$1,450/mth.Line Instructor Pilots receive an additional US$963/mth.Simulator Instructor Pilots receive an additional US$1,302/mth.
Days free of duty: 8 consecutive hard days off per month
Sick Leave: 5 days per annum
Annual Leave: 24 days per annum (accrue from 4th month @ 2 days/month)
Insurance: Travel & Medical Insurance:Emergency travel & medical insurance provided by IAC Pacific with an option to purchase Comprehensive Medical Cover (personal + family) at very competitive rates.Loss of Licence Insurance; Income Protection; and Life Insurance:Captains will be able to take advantage of IAC's highly competitive Insurance Services. Rates available upon application.
Salary Review Every December
You would need to be available for a minimum of four consecutive days in Taipei for simulator and medical checks. The CAA medical centre is heavily booked but CAL can usually obtain sessions, at a mutually convenient time, if given sufficient notice. CAL will pay for transportation to and from Taipei and hotel accommodation plus meal allowances in Taipei. After the successful completion of these checks, this then allows at least 40-60 days for Taiwan security checks.
