Embry-Riddle student charged with child porn

DAYTONA BEACH -- A 20-year-old Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University student was arrested Monday on charges of possession of child pornography, according to the state Attorney General's Office.
Investigators with the Attorney General's CyberCrime Unit happened upon Michael Brian Berry's images during a "routine online investigation," officials said in a prepared statement. The query led them back to Berry's computer, and he was arrested Monday at his off-campus residence on Derbyshire Road, officials said.
The images -- which included videos -- were of children ages 5 to 12, officials said. Investigators confiscated three computers from Berry's home. The ERAU student was charged with 10 counts of possession of child pornography, officials said.
Berry's status at the school remains the same until the conclusion of his court case, a university spokeswoman said.
He is being held on $50,000 bail at the Volusia County Branch Jail.
