Hope things work out for you all. Seems the new southwest deal has no plans for express. Good luck to you all.

Vclean, Dart, DxRick, Should we let the cat out of the bag?

P.S. I miss the good ole days in the crew lounge :(

C8 to possibly Furlo...

On the chico, info line last night the DO mentioned that a furlo of 50-75 pilots "may" happen. The Saab fleet will be brought down from 17 to 9 and of course the staffing will go to. sooooo, there you have it.

I guess after 3 years i'm on my way streight back to the bottom.

Hey M, I wonder... is it the worn blue couch or the inflatable Oscar Meyer Wiener hanging from the cieling that you miss ?? OR, maybe.... the GOSSIP!

And yea, add one more to the list of infoline callers..... You can't just flip a switch and not wonder and worry about your former co-workers.... of course you want to stay informed!!

To all the CEX'ers, I am keeping my fingers crossed for you that this "F" word doesn't happen , and that the "Wizard" at the GO can pull something out of his hat.... Its a shame that so much bad news can happen in one week....

Awwww, you know me too well......it's DB I miss! HA HA HA HA! Yeah, I want to stay informed AND hello, my honey is still there!

I don't know how the "Wizard" is not extremely p.o.'d at ATA....I feel like ATA is bringing Chico down with them....I could be wrong.....any thoughts on that one?

On a brighter note, how's class?

Of course I still listen to the info line. I may have left, but I still feel like ChiEx is home. After all, throwing bags on the J31s was my first job!

Am I the only one who misses the big weiner?

I'm praying they don't send anyone to the street. :(

before people go crazy it is my understanding the reduction in saabs is because ATA/CEX has decided that RJs are the future of CEX and therefore opening new cities out of IND (which is necessary because of the current SWA/ATA deal killing feed in MDW) is not profitable with the Saabs since they will only end up getting rid of them shortly and closing the "new" cities in favor of RJ supported cities. while it sucks that furloughs may well occur because of the time frame between being rid of the Saabs and gaining the RJs, it is at least better to understand that i don't think ATA views CEX as a "8-10 plane airline" which would be ridiculous. hopefully a new fleet type can be on property soon and get this airline growing again.

I hope you're talking about the hotdog in the crew room.

LOL! Dx, I think he was talking about me...ha ha:p

Saabcaptain,
Do you really believe that? Because this all affects how much extra hospital work I will have to do....know what I mean? ;)

Oh, so you're the Big Weiner, now it's all clear.

So does Chicago Express now essentially become a downsized Indianapolis Express? There will be no Chicago operation at all?

Word on the street is....they are gonna go back pretty far on the list!
Hope it is not true...if so I would have been an F.O. again after being there for five years.
Good luck.

Let the wizard work!!!

I happen to read a news article regarding the new expanded air service from Indianapolis to Flint and Gary, beginning on 2/4/2005 and 2/1/2005 respectively. I believe Flint is currently served at this time from MDW. Link is below...

Is this beginning of ATA connections retreat to IND? Or are they using different aircraft to service the numerous round trips offered next month? Hopefully, they can service all there current cities but from a IND based operation.
