Anyone have any experience in these? We're looking at one as an entry level corporate airplane, Part 91. We're comparing it to a KA200, it's slower and can carry less but for the price is it a good airplane.
If you are even thinking about this compared to the B200..... consider the fact that the B200 is still in production and the Cheyenne III is not..... Ask around about parts support.... How about shops that know how to work on them.... Training, where are you going to go for school as insurance gets tougher and tougher.... and then you wanna take a day off, how many guys do you know that have Cheyenne time, let alone are current and qualified?
I have to agree with longboarder, the Cheyenne 3 is an orphan. We have one, it's a nice aircraft but parts and support, including training is a pain. If you are really looking at alternatives to the 200, I would look at the Citation 1 and 2. Price wise they are in the same ballpark as the 200. Faster, better altitudes, better operating cost per mile. Down side is that they are smaller inside, insurance will likely require two pilots.
