Opportunity to fill in for a Falcon 2000 F/O, who’s being called up for guard duty, checking out 91 SIC till he gets back, any anybody fly this bird have any pointers, do’s, don’t or just general stuff I should concern myself with over other stuff?

What’s that Collins layout like? I’ve got time behind the old Proline 4 package on the Lear 60.

How’s systems compared to the 50/900, any similarities or is she a brand new bird?

Same hydraulic system, Number one and two, how bout the fuel system, similar to the rest of the Falcon family?

What’s this I heard about odd flap limits, something about large pitch changes at the upper end?

I had the chance to crawl over one today and boy, that’s one big honking bird, wasn’t expecting it to be THAT big.

How’s she handle, more like a newer 900 maybe?

Please don’t tell me this thing handles like a fat version of the 20 with a pair of fans on it.

Overall nice bird looking forward to scaring the h-e-l-l out of the old man who owns her.

LA,

First of all, you're gonna love it.

Second, at the end of the day, you'll love it even more!

To be more specific to your questions, the 2000 is a great aircraft to fly. I don't have any experience on any other Falcon, but from my counter-parts, its more like a 900 than anything.

The Collins layout isn't anything to sweat. Get a GPU hooked up and play with the Display Control Unit to get familiar with what presentation you'll be using. Last thing you want to be doing inflight is trying to figure out what screen you want to look at.

As far a systems compared to the 900/50, I can't help you there.

Fuel system: Left wing + 1/2 center wing box 6070#, right wing +1/2 center wing box 6085#. Very straight forward and needs very little attention (besides the obvious).

Odd flap limits? Don't know if their odd or not:
S/F 10 ... 200 KIAS
S/F 20 ... 160 KIAS
S/F 40 ... 160 KIAS
There is a slight pitch change during flap movement, but hardly noticable in my opinion.

Like I said, it's a great plane to fly. You'll enjoy being at FL430, 0.82M and burning a whopping 1600PPH TOTAL! in your second hour. The Arthur Q gives the flight controls the same feel at slow and high speeds. You'll love hand flying this airplane.

The cockpit and cabin are quiet. Don't tell your captain the "OLD MAN" might get scared. Trust me, he'll hear you in the back of the plane!

Check out the following website for a program you can download on studying the limitations and Phase 1 checklist items.

Falcon 2000 Study Guide

Once there, look for the link to study guide. There is one there for the 2000, G4 and G5. Download and enjoy.

If you have any other questions, feel free to ask. Most of all...

HAVE FUN!!
