Chperplt,

Most of our crews (CommutAir) stay at the Best Western (aka Bedrock Inn) on Wolf Rd. It's about a 2 minute drive and I believe that their rates are reasonable. However, I live here so I couldn't give you an exact rate.

You'll see why it's called the Bedrock Inn when you go there!

Thanks for the info.

I'm trying to get in touch with the Colgan guys to get crashpad info, but it looks like I'll need a cheap place for a few days..

Crashpad

You can always get in touch with Commutair guys for crashpad info as well. We have had some Colgan guys in our place at times. Just stop by our ops by gate A1. I think there are currently a few crashpad ads up on the bulletin board. Welcome to ALB.

PS

There is a Microtel Inn off of exit 6 on I-87 about 5-10 minutes from the airport that is advertising rates under $60.

The Clarion (across from the Microtel) is offering specials right now for fifty some odd bucks a night. Nice room, breakfast included, courtesy van, small workout room, HBO, dataports in room.......Their phone # is (518) 785-5891.

When I was based in ALB and couldn't make it home between trips I stayed at the Red Roof Inn. It's very close to the "Bedrock" and from what I remember it was right around $40 a night. Might not have all the amenities of the Clarion but being a lowly FO I was happy to save $10 or $20.

there's a main street that runs just east of the university there. i lived in one of the hotels northeast of there for a couple months - i liked it. seedy but clean and very cheap
