Just an Update for those saving for 737 type ratings and not eligble for the WIA funding. Flight Training International has a new funding program to help those of us with little money in the bank. Just spoke with a friend who financed his type through FTI for less than $150 per month. Don't know all the details but I called my friend Shari at FTI (303) 329-0999 and she said that they have arrainged the money through a flight training finance company that normaly wouldn't do type ratings. They have been getting people financed within one day. She also said the it has been as low as $138 per month depending on the length of the term.
My friend told me that he had the flight time to apply to SWA but that he was looking at saving for another year until he could cover the 737 type. He figures that if he financed the type and got into even one class earlier at SWA it would be worth it. Hope this helps all of those, who like me, didn't have $7500 lying around for a type rating.
