Guys,
How many pilots are in IAH base right now? Are new hires going there? How is commute from Florida?
Are the CRJ's only for CAL express system?
Thanks

It depends on where in FL you will commute from. Not really sure where everyone is getting based out of training right now, but based on the last prelim perm bid, I'd say you'd get one of the branded bases (ONT, SAT) or LAX for the DAL flying. Not a lot of movement or openings in the CAL bases right now. BTW, I have a couple of friend that commute out of MCO, they seem to have better luck commuting to EWR than IAH.

I will give this a try. Not sure how many are actually in base right now. 24 CRJ's and 20 ERJ's are supposed to be fully implemented to CO by July. This will come out to about 110 crews with about 65 based in IAH.

They are slowly implementing the whole CO system, so there are only a handful of a/c currently flying these routes. There are growing pains and currently at least a month long wait for IOE, so again, no idea how many crews there right now. Out of SDF they are flying a few CRJ routes for US but this is just to get guys through IOE.

I used to commute from MCO to CLE on Continental and never had any trouble. I did ask the gate agents how IAH and EWR were out of there and they said there were a ton of mainline pilots commuting to both. I did jumpseat a couple of times TPA to IAH and back and didn't have any trouble. However this was back in '02-'04.
