JAFI,
If you've been reading my posts for any length of time, You'll be aware that I'm always more than willing to point someone to a difficult to find regulation or dig up a legal interpretation for a unclear reg. However, I do have a fairly low tolerence for pilots just asking to be spoon-fed something which can be easily found with minimal effort. As an aside, I believe this is one of the reasons that we have so many myths and misunderstandings in aviation: because people would rather be told something than go find the correct answer themselves ... as a result of this intellectual laziness, mis-information gets passed on from one person to another, and winds up being accepted as truth. Anyway, perhaps you are right, if the original poster is in fact a 26 hour student pilot, he might be cut some slack. I didn't read the profile before you mentioned it. At any rate, I would agree with your suggestion:
"You may want to spend some time in the FAR book is you wish to become and remain a Certified Pilot for any length of time."
That is good advice.
BTW, the correct answer to the first question is 30 days.
See what I mean about it being better to look it up than to ask someone?
