I had the opportunity to sit in a Flexjet Challenger 300 in Teterboro last week and I was VERY impressed. The flight deck was comfortable and compeletely digitalized with huge screens. The cabin was spacious as well. I see this aircraft competing very effectively against the Galaxy, Citation X, Sovereign and Falcon 2000. The Flexjet guys told me that the Challenger 300 is selling like hotcakes and that the owners are extremely happy with the aircraft.

Anyone out there know of companies ordering this great aircraft? How many orders are there for it (non-fractional)? Anyone training on it right now? I was very impressed - it looks like a winner to me...

Heavy, our company looked VERY hard at purchasing one. It has GREAT numbers and is a lot of bang for the buck. The biggest problem is obtaining a slot. Before NBAA, you could not get a slot before 2006. They have pre-sold a very large number of airplanes. I believe the number is around 150.

The big drawbacks to the airplane are cosmetic. The galley is 1/2 the size of the G200 and cabin is a lot smaller than the Falcon 2000. There is also not an approved jumpseat. The FA must sit on the potty or in the cabin. The only reason I mention that is the airplane can fly 3000nm with 8 pax and a working galley is essential to many people. Namely our principals.

I is going to be a hit, no doubt. I heard from guys flying it that it is a great airplane.

I noticed that the cabin was a bit smaller than the Falcon 2000 cabin - but it was larger than the Citation X's cabin by a decent margin. The cockpit windows were also a bit funky looking - narrow and swept back - you'll notice it when you see one on the ramp.

Regardless, the flight deck was plenty comfortable and the EFIS screens were very impressive. The pilots seemed quite happy - and I am sure I would be too.

Anyone out there have an opinion about the 300?

Spill a Coke on that new seat yet ? How ya liking that new Falcon ???

Nope. Haven't even farted on it. Will not be delivered until May now. The boss wanted add a couple of things to his new baby that caused an engineering delay.

But boy, the sim sure is nice.
