Hey does anyone know where to find that video/audio that all of us have to watch in recurrent about CFIT. The one with the "whoop whoop pull up" nine times or so. I would appreciate any help.

Below is an audio clip from the incident where the crew shot the wrong approach and ended up hitting terra firma.

The particulars of the crash escape me at the moment.

Download Here (190K)

Warning: Very graphic audio. These guys had about 8-10 seconds of knowing what laid ahead of them, and its quite evident on the recording.

Wow! I Haven't heard that one before. Thats not really the one I am looking for though. I want to say it was a 747, the GPWS goes off 9 times, "Whoop Whoop Pull Up", and the crew didn't do anything. I do remember they were shooting an NDB.

That sounds like the Flying Tigers crash in Kuala Lumpur. Don't know where to get it ,but maybe this will help reference it.

No, I remember this one. This is the crew that landed on the wrong runway in Mexico City, the one with all the construction gear parked on the runway. They were already on the ground during the recording and hit construction equipment during rollout.

I forget the airline and flight number but I remember this recording because it scared the crap out of me when I heard it.

(edit: I kant speil.)

No, they haden't made it to the runway yet. I think they were shooting an NDB and descended below MDA. I remember seeing the profile view of the descent that normally accompanies the audio. They descended below MDA and thats when the GPWS started going off.

Does anyone have the graphic? I've never seen it.
To tell the truth, even when listening for it, I can't hear a GPWS there.
Is it the whoop-whoop-pull-up kind or is it that tone that sounds at 15 seconds?

(edit: For the original poster, I think I have the 747 one you are looking for on my computer at home; I'll have to check.)

The CVR audio was of a Western Airlines DC-10 in Mexico City.

Everytime I hear that audio it sends chills up my spine.

I think the orginal poster is talking about the Flying Tigers 747 in Kuala Lumpur-Subang Airport. They were told to descend "2 4 0 0" and the crew read back "descend to 4 0 0". The GPWS went off several times and the crew did nothing until one of the crew members said "We're at 100 feet!" and then the two most famous words were said by the crew and the recording ends.

I heard that audio years ago and I have tried to find it ever since, but have been unable to.
