OK- I'll answer this. Ones who think that 600 hrs should get them a job any where else, and bitch when they don't get a call!!!!

Amen to that!!! Also I will add to this, instructors that have 1200 hours and complain beacuse an airline won't pick them up but are not willing to go to work some 135. I guess it's SJS, because a "baron" is not good enough aircraft for them!!!

When I was recieving instruction, by biggest peeve was the instructor that would just walk away after the flight without saying a word. Not that I minded doing the tidy up work after the flight. Hey, that's part of flying, isn't it?

I also hate it when "students"(post private) talk way too much on the radio.

My CFI's an old salt with close to 18k hours, and I really respect what he can do with the airplane. I also don't care about the fact that he never helps out with tie-downs, fueling, etc.-- I'm [pretending to be] PIC, and I'd actually rather do it myself.

My only gripe is that I'd like to add a few seconds to the downwind so I have more time to get set up on final, but he's kinda nuts about noise abatement and likes a tight pattern. I couldn't care less about the dudes in the farmhouses-- they live next to a freaking airport, and if they don't like engine noise they should move.

You're right. I can hear the crowd now...Jer-ry, Jer-ry, Jer-ry!

I edited all my post on this thread and would like to make amends with Dr. Phil and Doogie Houser  . No hard feelings, even from this tight wad! :D

Not having the balls to tell the student he sucks.....

HAHA!!! And you would figure the student would realize that after 200 hrs, and he hasn't soloed yet.

ePilot22- I'll be Dr. Phil. It's over. No hard feelings on this side!!!! I'll do the same.

Ya know, letting the student tie down by themselves is essentially part of the PTS. We CFI's don't always sit in the plane with them while they fumble through some maneuvers during solo flight, do we? Bottom line, pre-flight and post-flight is something that is tested upon, believe it or not, so why shouldn't the student have to do it a few times alone when the instructor is there to fly with them? It makes things go a lot smoother when they are prepping to go solo by themselves.

Yes, professionalism is a necessary part of being a flight instructor, but I have no problem ASKING a student if he/she would like to tie-down by themselves so I can start their paperwork and sign their logbook, etc. , so I can brief them and be on time for the next student.
