CFI rides as flight reviews

BFR can be done by a CFI and endorsed in the logbook
I second that. Have the CFI who trained you for your CFI sign off a flight review separate and apart from your practical exam signoffs. For one thing, who would be better qualified to sign it off than someone who has observed your flying and evaluated your aeronautical knowledge for several flight and several days? Moreover, doing so would be entail far less heartburn and brain damage than (1) approaching an examiner, who may be a stranger and is somewhat of an adversary because he/she is testing you and (2) debating the legal merits of whether the CFI practical obviates the flight review requirement.
