cash, cash, cash! that is if you are in a flight school that it not trying to get a cut of your fee. go to office max and buy a generic invoice pad for your, not the irs's, records. if your school does take your money, they will 1099 you. if you can set your own rate, don't cut yourself short. golf pro's get +$75/hr. as for the books, jepp is king. another plus for you, is if your school has a tax id. #, you can use it to become a jepp dealer. the profit on the kits is pretty good. jepp does make a part 61 kit, but either one will do.

p.s. this is for the guy or gal who is a new part-time cfi. i am computer handi-crapped and couldn't make this stick to the correct thread. sorry.
