I was told yesterday by a fellow CFI that it was illegal to put out your business cards in the lobby of an airport, unless it was a flight school that you are employed by.
He didnt say if he was refering to a state law or a FAR.
Any truth to this? Or is this just some competitive bullcrap?
It isn't against FARs to advertise yourself as a CFI. What he could have meant was the airport has "minimum standards" for CFI operating out of there such as insurance, office space etc... Ask the airport manager about it.
