I've seen that they have at least tested the 7X to .93M, but I don't know what the max speed they will certify it for will be. I would definitely like to see those on property. By the time I'm senior enough to hold them we might still have a couple left before they are all sold off and replaced with something even better- 10 to 15 years from now.

The X was tested to 1.2 or 1.3 and is Mmo'd to .92.

I think the flight test speed for Mmo is equal to 1.3 times the desired Mmo.

Will the 4000 ever get certified? Will it meet it's promised specs or possibly get cancelled like the G-150s? I believe the promised max speed is only .84. Time will tell... The X is still a dang sexy beast and it is still the fastest thing out there. I hope it gets an update and NJ gets it so I can fly it some time in the future.

Sorry for not keeping up with the news, but was the NJA G-150 order officially cancelled?

Also, when are the 4000s "estimated" to arrive for NJA? I understand it is still working out the certification.

The main man claims the G-150s are cancelled, but others say differently. It is a performance dog and unless Gulfstream comes up with an aweful sweet deal I don't see it happening. The 4000 captain bids were recently removed from the bid system since the airplane just can't seem to get over the certification hurdle and we won't be getting any this year. Hopefully early in 07, but nobody knows right now. The 4000 specs don't really make it seem like a reasonable (x-country speed wise) replacement for the X, but it does look like a nice airplane.

If it is a $$ issue, Cessna (Textron) can not afford to lose NJA as a customer. I would wait for an announcement.

Fly safe.

Well, I hope that is true. But come 2008, all the Excels will have collins avionics in them and I dont think that NJA is going to want to split another fleet in two again over avionics....as it did with the 800. My understanding is that cessna has made no effort to talk with NJA or make some sort of proposal to keep a number of excels with honeywell. We know that the Encore will have collins avionics starting shortly and there are no more Encore orders slated for the future either. For what it's worth, Flight Safety is saying that honeywell may get swapped out with collins in the Sovereign as well.

Additionally, Raytheon has the blue light special on as well.......
