Anyone know if there will be a single pilot waiver for the CJ3? I assume those with the CE525s type ratings will have to take a copilot along otherwise?

I heard somewhere that cessna was denying reports about the small 4 seat jet market. Guess that cat is out now.

How is Cessna going to sell a 6 seat jet that goes 340kts for 2.3 million when Eclipse is selling a 6 seat jet that goes 360kts for under 1 mill?? I'll take my TWO Eclipse jets and $300,000 of fuel to boot!! -Bean

I was kind of surprised at the price cessna listed. it's a relatively slow plane, not sure of the weight it can hold though

It's interesting to note that the Mustang's engines have a thrust rating 1350lbs / engine, compared to only 700 pounds/engine for the Eclipse. I can't find Cessna's projected gross weight, that would be an interesting number to know. The Eclipse has a MTOW of 4700 pounds. The Mustang is bigger, 42' x 38' compared to 36' x 31'.

I like the fact that the Mustang has separate emergency round dials above the main displays. The Eclipse doesn't have separate emergency instruments, relying on the redundancy of the three main displays (according to the Eclipse training Captain as told to me at Oshkosh). Otherwise the cockpits are pretty similar. The Eclipse has a fold down desk over the copilot seat.

It's good to see these kind of innovations being implemented. I just wish Boeing would announce something kewl for the big iron world one of these days.
