The Cessna 414 has tip tanks and carries less fuel

The Cessna 414A doesn't have tip tanks and carries more fuel, it has a slightly longer wing.

I think the 414A is a much better flying aircraft.

414A vs 41

The 414A also has a longer nose to help prevent rudder blocking during OEI ops. You can also get RAM conversions which can add winglets, HP and stuff - my former employer operated two 414AW's with the RAM 4 conversion - much nicer to fly than a straight 414.

Don't go near the Cessna 414As. Spar corrosion is rampant in the area where the recessed tie down ring allowed exhaust to flow into the area. The Cessna 421Cs exhaust flowed in a different path and doesn't have the same problem.
