Last I heard, they still had about 35 pilots and engineers on furlough. The hiring situation doesn't look good although who knows how this merger might affect things. I certainly hope things will improve soon since they look like a good company to work for. I've jumpseated on Centurio several times and the crews work in a very relaxed, friendly environment and don't complain much about the company.
Centurion has no one on furlough. The airline is expanding and absorbing Cielos. There is no longer a Southwinds (atleast not in relation to centurion.).And yes we do work in a relaxed & freidnly environment.
things aren't so bad. they could be worse.
I am bringing this thread back to life because I checked past postings and found old info and also went to airlinepilotcentral.com and found the info there to be from Aug. 1st. According to them:
-New contract in place as of August 1st
-Payscale to be updated
-Centurion Air Cargo and Southwinds are merging
-Teamsters in the house
Questions:
-What are the new first year's pay for CA, FO and FE?
-Hiring next year?
-Did the perdiem go up from $1.50/hr (day trips)
$2.00/hr (layover).
-Do you now have a 20 on 10 off or something similar schedule?
-Are you home based in new contract or you have to be in MIA?
-What about CASS? Are you working on getting on CASS or you have any agreements with any airline?
