Can anyone recommend a cell phone provider that won't steal my paycheck every month? I'm entering the aviation profession, and with all the traveling I'll be doing I'd like to have a provider that has good long distance/roaming rates. Also, what do you think of driving a car and talking on a cell phone? I read an interesting article about it recently and wanted to get some feedback from the aviation community. Thanks for your help in advance!

well, you seem to have somehow gotten an instrument rating, that involves a lot more than talking and "driving" i.e. airplane control, ATC, charts, etc.

wtf kind of question is this?

Sierra,
Just out of curosity you have 300 hours. How did you get a job flying that involves a lot of travel.

By the way if you are relly doing a lot of traveling then go with nextel.

I think you've been listening to the authoritarians who are out there trying to take all risk out of life, even if it means taking away advancements made by technology for little or no measurable advance in safety.

Why weren't these do-gooders worried about drinking hot coffee, eating bean burritos & hamburgers or screaming kids in the car?! It's no different. If driving with cell phone is so dangerous, then let's stop driving for goodness sake! And flying's definitely got to go. Far too dangerous and pollution intensive.
