a couple years ago, we almost took over a route served by a cargo caravan, between puerto rico and turks/caicos.
the reason was the turks/caicos gov't didn't think it was safe to fly single engine over the ocean and they won't approve it (i think it was fed ex and i think they brought in an F-27 to replace the caravan)
the us gov't caravan crash in columbia (engine failure) got me thinking about it
