Last year while doing my research about buying another SS or going with an FX I was shown an FX that was built by CubCrafters to operate as an LSA with an EAB airworthiness certificate. In order to do this they had to remove the constant speed prop and prop governor from the airplane (C/S prop not allowed under LSA rules). Here is the result
This is the new Catto 3 bladed composite fixed pitch cruise prop. It weighs 16 lbs versus 13 lbs for the Catto 80" X 50" two bladed cruise prop. Both are rated at 2700 RPM full power. Both props have the same reported performance. The advantage of the 3 bladed prop is prop is that it is much shorter (4" shorter), it is smoother running and it looks much better. I order the black/white prop same as the picture though they are available in a variety of colors. Here are the details of the quote.
