I'm wondering if the US based DEFO could answer some training Q's.
- Will all of your training be done in HKG?
- On average how long will it take you from indoc to being signed off for IOE?
- How often do you get to come home during and for how long??

Yes, with the exception of your base training when you will fly the airplane from HKG to ZUH (in China) for your touch and goes.
- On average how long will it take you from indoc to being signed off for IOE?
There is no "in doc" however, it will take about 2 months until you commence flight training.
- How often do you get to come home during and for how long??
You won't come home during the ground portion, however, once you are under LFUS (CX's IOE equivalent), or "line flying under supervision," you will normally be scheduled to fly to the US and remain there for about 7-10 days. LFUS lasts for about 2 months, or 25 sectors. Total training time is about 4 months, sometimes more, never less (more than likely). You may spend more time under LFUS in the U.S. now, because there are some new check and training captains from North America so more sectors will be flown on the freighters in NA. You become temporarily based in HKG from date of joining however.

Yes, but only if you put it under your pillow at night! Then the FAA fairy will come and issue the type rating.

I read through the multiple pages of contacts from Amy and I still can not figure out (or at least I am hoping that what I am seeing is not true) what the pay is during training...... I am starting Jan 29th and based in Ancorage, but praying for a change in Vancouver BC. By the way, what are the odds of that happening
