Anyone know anything about Cathay Pacific?

I heard their accepting apps and have US pilot bases.

We are accepting cv's for US based direct entry freighter First Officers. US interviews, I believe, have already taken place. The next set will take place in Vancouver Canada.

I think somewhere on this harddrive I have an Excell file that will print out in the exact format for their A4 paper update form. PM me if anyone needs it. I don't.

Edited: The file I have will only work on their two-page update form. Sorry.

Any information of Cathay Pacific US based freighter operation would be greatly received.

What are the minimums for this operation and do applications go to CX in HKG

Thanks

Does Cathay accept offline ie. US airline jumpseaters?

Cathy Pacific is like having the worst
VD you can imagine, put like 6 clothes
pins on your penis and try to pee..
They treat Americans like crap, I interviewed
with them over 2 years ago and know 2
pilots that have since left them.

And; yes "I was offered a position"
I had fun in Hong Kong though.

Stay state side..

Age limit

If you are an old crapper like me, Cathay won't take you, that is older than 46. That is the answer I received from the Freighter division management.

Anybody that works there on this board? I want to try to find a buddy of mine and see if he's still there. PM me if you want. thks

Polarities

I've heard both sides.

I hear that Cathay is a terrific place to work. The best airline in the world.

I also hear that they treat Americans like S**T. I'll go to the interview if they call, but which one is the most accurate?

From what I have learned from a few folks that work there is that it is very political. If you think you will thrive in that environment, then go for it. Upgrades are based on seniority and being liked.
Unions are illegal in Hong Kong.

Hey Single, are you still going to be an MD guy, or are you blessed with the Boeing.............

I thought I would get booted to the Boeing, but a lot of Boeing pilots ended up getting booted to the MD. Go figure.

No one was ever "officially" supposed to be blacklisted. We did not have any "official" votes on the issue.

The "Black List"

That's right. The "recruitment ban" is no longer in effect.

That means those mean and nasty 25 year old relief pilots won't be considered scabbing and taking the job of a 50 year old Capt.

Thank god somebody came to their senses.

We don't have that many 25 year old cruisers, most cadets are even older than that, but i do understand your point.
