Hey, when are you United guys gonna get on your company to fix the problem with using CASS at your outstations, specifically the problem I'm having in LAS? What's it gonna take?

Don't make this "our" problem dude. LAS airport authority owns the computers. They DO NOT have internet access, which is a requirement for CASS to check your photo/passport.

So, what's your grand solution? There is none, unless you can convince the airport authority to configure their computers to allow internet access.

Well "dude" ( I feel like I'm in Bill and Ted's excellent adventure) every other cass participant is using it just fine in LAS. So how is that??

FlyGuppy is right. LAS owns the computers at the UAL side. SWA and maybe "the others" have worked out an agreement with the airport authority on getting internet access for their computers. Except for CASS UAL doesn't need the internet like some others may. Many other airlines [UPS for example] use a web based software and require internat access. UAL required intranet access when they signed their contract with LAS. Their IT is working on making the change, but it is not a high priority.

As to other out stations, their computers may have similar issues. Some of the outstations were "blocked" by UAL because they were Express stations who were not yet CASS approved. Now they are having to go back and go through each computer and have the firewall removed.

kjokm,

What is the big deal. Most of you guys loathe UAL so much I would suspect that it would pain you to ride in our cockpits. Perhaps this is UAL's way of making sure you are not put through the pain and suffering.

I know it is LAS but we do have unlimited seats in the cabin.

As to your question of, "what's it gonna take?" What are you offering to get it fixed?

Seeing as how you work for Allegiant how many UAL guys do carry on an average month?

So, I guess you'd better go ride on them instead of throwing accusations around that it is UA's fault for you getting left in LAS.

What's it gonna take for you to realize that?

Oh boy here we go again, not the point if the agreement is reciprocal, you continue to erode what very little professionalism you may or may not have left. Maybe the plea was a little combative, but "hey let me see what I can do" might serve you better. Who cares how many of who gets carried. We are all in the same boat. Remind me next time you show up for a j/s to get out my score sheet to see if you can ride dude :erm:

First, a question: I'd like to verify UAL offers UNLIMITED jumpseats in the cabin? If I show up with 10 of my closest pilots friends, and there are seats, we all ride?

Second, I believe the reason for the LAS problems is that UA hasn't had any assigned gates there since entering bankruptcy. LAS airport authority had just been burned by N7 for millions, and as soon as UA declared, they were put on a pay-as-you-go basis. At LAS, if you don't have a long-term lease, the airport assigns you a gate for each operation. I'm sure that UA wasn't able to make any modifications such as adding internet to an "airport" gate, in spite of the fact that they were the only air carrier using them at all. In other words, even though the United gates were the same gates every day, they didn't "own" them through a long-term lease.

Since they are out of bankruptcy, I'm sure they have gone back to a leased-gate situation, so they should be able to make changes now.
