I hear that SLC has the longest duty days, and there is a waiting list to come here. Why, I don't know. We do need 99 pilots, but it all rides on what Burbank wants. Apply, then call Jerry Clark in BUR to find out the real deal. He's the man.
I was told last week that there is a current list of 3 pilots already with the company who want to transfer to SLC. Not sure how current the list is though. I know of at least one who is actively pursuing a transfer.
With that said, I think we could probably use at least 3 99 pilots right now. Tinman is dead on... Apply and then call recruiting and see what happens.
Schedule is basically 5am show and you're out the door in the evening between 6:45-8 pm depending on the run. Most are around 7:15ish though.
Thanks for the info. Where do pilots typically go after their time there? Do you see many staying, regionals, majors? What's the avg upgrade from the 99 to the 1900?
Upgrade time is all about timing. I've seen guys take close to a year to move up after the 99 here in Salt Lake and I've seen as low as 2-3 months. Just depends. 6 months would probably be a good ballpark.
As far as where people go... Some are going to places like NetJets, others to independent corporate outfits, air ambulances, Frontier/Southwest/UPS/Southwest, etc. It varies.
Besides AMF, there's Corporate Air (FX caravans), Western Air express (UPS metros), and Salmon Air (UPS cheiftains). I hear Salmon is losing their passenger routes to Mesa however, so who knows what will happen with their cargo operation.
Also, If you're into bank work, there's I've seen a PC-12, and a couple C402s around, and possibly a mitsubishi rice grinder.
I don't know who flies the PC12, but they park in front of JET CENTER if that helps any. A friend of mine tells me that the pilot just signed a year long contract so I don't think there's an opportunity for a while.
