I have been in touch with the local Red Cross
and what is needed right now is six seat singles
like Cherokee Sixes and Cessna 206-207 aircraft.
Freighters with seats avalible that can be removed
easily.

I have offered my services as a pilot, but can't find
a machine. Called from coast to coast. Everyone
is afraid of a ding in their "pet" airplane (private
owners) or Liablility on the company side.

If you work for a company that has any aircraft
that can handle short strips and looks like a freighter
please get them in touch with the Red Cross local
chapter, (the Pickens County SC is what I am working
through).

By air is going to be the way it will have to get into
the Gulf States for some time, just like the third
world.

If you know someone with a scruffy airplane that fits
the bill (even a four seater) please lean on them to
help.

Thanks,

Belch

Sir:

I wish I had access to an airplane to help you. I'd offer my time as an A&P and pilot if I could.

You're a good man for trying to help. I can't beleive that private owners won't help out here.

Dan

Give me more details about this...located in the D/FW area...know a lot of aircraft owners, from jets to cubs that are good people, and need a tax write-off.

Check your PM sf360pilot!

Not all owners are stingy with their equipment,
but getting in touch with those that would be
willing to let someone unknown to them fly
the machine into Lord knows what conditions
carrying who knows what is tough-I used to be
a partner in an airplane, so I speak from
experience in that matter.

The issue is putting machines and qualified
people together.

If anyone can help, get in touch with your local
Red Cross or Emergency Coordinator.

Thanks!

Some will-but between lawers, insurance, FAA, and all
the other bs in this business, well, you know...it's amazing
that anything ever gets done.

And I ain't so good. Just see a bad situation that I
can in some small way help out in.

I would never expect for someone to send an antique
Fairchild for instance. On the other hand I wouldn't
be surprised if one showed up. Or a Beaver, Maule
or whatever.

We just need to get the word out...

Get me a Caravan and I'll help out if I can get off work. Errr...probably not gonna happen, but I'd love to help.

I'd be there in a second if gas were at 1996 prices but at these prices it's $1,000 in gas just to get one of my twins down there.

I don't know for sure that you would have
to buy the gas. check with your local
Red Cross or other favorite relief outfit!

Thanks for the responses guys and gals,
I am still looking! Will be going to work
tomorrow, but might be able to check
here off and on.

Willing to help

If you have another Caravan let me know as well. I have 1,000+ hours in that machine. I'm also off 'til the Sept. 21st. I'd really like to help those poor kids down there.
