Although I have heard that we, in all probability, aren't going to have real live people telling us the weather for much longer, I am curious as to what this job consists of. What kind of education/training is neccesary? What is the actual job like? What is the pay like? I do appreciate any answers that can give me insight into this.

one of my best friends is a weather briefer. If you asked him about his job you'd hear a list of profanities followed by your crazy. Things are really messed up over there. They are in the process of privitization because the gov't feels that they don't do anything except brief little planes. It's not pretty.
