I know my FX3 this is N/A but my instructor in the sport cub last time I flew said no need for carb heat, granted it was a hot humid summer day. Back in my Cessna days it was always use carb heat. Share with me the opinions in cubs regarding carb heat.
 
Without carb air temperature indicator and annunciator the old Cessna route is all you can do.
