You don't want a "job description." That's for OERs.
Folks in the industry know what a 121 Captain, & other jobs you've held, involve.
If you did anything "over and above," i.e., check airman, IOE Captain, working part time for the CP or other administrative tasks, make brief statement of same in your employment history blurb for the job in question, and/or include this information in your cover letter.
I recently commented to my dispatcher that it was my job to be the company's "paid pessimist."
The schedule will probably not hold up to the plan. The weather will be at least as bad as forecast. Maintenance won't have time to address the most critical deferals. There will be holding in Europe at 0930 local and we will need more fuel not less.
That's pretty much the Captain's job at my place. Devil's advocate to the company's cool-aid laddened mission planning.
