I’m wondering if anyone has ever had the experience of a Captain deliberately cheating a First Officer (FO) of actual instrument time. For example, the FO actually flew an hour in actual conditions, but the Captain only documented half of that time in the aircraft daily records, and this was not just a one-time occurrence, but a daily occurrence.

If this happened to you, how would you react? What would you think of the Captain?

If my FO confronted me about "stealing his IFR" time. I would sit back...ponder for a minute, look serious, shrivle my forehead, and then LAUGH AS HARD AS I EVER HAVE in his face. Then I'd ask him if he has a fever, and needs to go home. Then I would call Camielle and yell at her for hiring such a freakin' tool!!!!!

What company makes the captain keep track of instrument time? I've only heard of airlines keeping track of flight time, block time and landings. Everything else, I log on my own. I've flown with guys who log more instrument time than I do and who log less (by .1 or so). I've never heard of this, especially not an airline that has guys that have been on the seniority list for 30 years.

Dude, just log something, anything! I fly at night only, and I log 10% on every flight. Some nights its clear, some are in the clouds all the way, but it works out to be about right. I log 10% mainly because I catch up my logbook about once every month or so, and can't remember the exact numbers. As was stated earlier, these numbers don't mean much.

BTW, I'll give ya some night time if ya really want it! How bout some turbine time?
