Haven't heard anything. I fly in there usually but i'm in Rapid this week. I'll ask around.

yes its true. The owners son crashed their cherokee six when he lost the engine on take off. he had his wife and children on board. he broke his back and one of his sons was killed. my condolence's goes out to the pietz family.

Close, but not quite. His wife was not onboard. His son was not killed. He did get a broken back and one of his arms was broken in several places. A child was killed but it was not his, it was a relative though. It was a flight with a bunch of family member's kids on a celebration flight during a birthday party. 1 child was killed, the pilot and 3 kids were flown via airmed to Sioux Falls SD. The above info is a fact Jack.

Some reports going around are that there was plenty of fuel in the airplane but not in the tank that he had selected but he did not know that because the fuel guage did not work for that tank.
