How senior is the ATR position in guam? What is the ATR pay and sched like? What about ATR Captain how long for the upgrade? What about housing in guam?
relax, there are a few cair guys on here they'll respond eventually.
i dont think you can go from ATR f/o to cpt w/o going to the 402. That could be old news but I know they're looking outside and inside to hire F/Os in guam. No ATR street cpt. I could be wrong, i just know what I know because I worked for them for a few years not as a pilot.
Right now, 9K is starting up a new region in BWI with one route to Ocan City and other routes possible....and other regions being researched in other areas. The long and short of it is they're hiring 402 Cpts. like they're going out of style right now -- and those guys (and gals) get a seniority # which they can use to get in on the ATR program when the time arises. There were a couple of 402 drivers that were hired in May 2005, flew the 402 for the summer, then wnet in on a Oct. 2005 ATR class. I don't know when they are going to run ATR classes -- but that operation seems to be in full swing now and the word is the domestic ATR flying is just a matter of time.
Head to Cape Air, grab a #, fly a 402 for $600 a week (45 hour duty week -- either 2 or 3 days off per week) and hop into the next ATR class that comes along....just tell them in the interview that you're interested in the ATR so they know up front. 402 training is 6-8 weeks @ your starting pay rate (35 hour min...you'll be there [and get paid for] 40+ during ground school) and hotel is paid for too (Comfort Inn - decent place). Training, mx, and work rules better than most piston freight places so it might be a pleasant surprise -- judging by your handle.
