If you can get a little side job from her, I'll buy you lunch!
Sorry I don't really know anything about Cape Air, if I did I would gladly share the information. I have heard good things about the company and working conditions however.
Glad to have you aboard. You'll have to pardon the sarcasm, it seems to flow freely around here, but if you can sort through it there is some good information to be had.
WHEN I LEFT THERE FLYING FULL TIME I WAS MAKING ABOUT $13HR, I LEFT 3 1/2 YRS AGO, I WAS THERE ONE YEAR, THE PAY IS PER "DUTY HR", MOST AIRLINES PAY IS BY FLIGHT HOUR THIS ONE IS NOT. NOT SURE OF WHAT CURRENT PAY IS, I WOULD HAVE MADE AROUND 40,000 IF I WOULD HAVE BEEN THERE FOR ALL OF 2001
What you get paid at Cape Air is a function of what region you work in and how many hours you work. All pay except for the ATR is done by duty hour.
New England 402 pilot = 12.80/HR 35 hour guarentee
Florida 402 pilot = 12.80/HR 35 hour guarantee
Carribean 402 pilot = 15.80/HR 40 hour guarantee
Guam 402 Pilot = 15.80/HR 40 hour guarantee
1 dollar a year raise (cap is around $25.00 per hour)
(Recently company has not been able to give full raise because of slow business)
Profit sharing
401 K plan ) 0% matched
Health Insurance Depends on what region your in. New England and Florida most expensive (Around 500/month for family plan)
Cheaper in Carribean not sure of exact cost but maybe 40% cheaper
Vacation = 1 week after 1 year/ 2 weeks after 2 years/ 3 weeks after 5 years /4 weeks after 10 years/ you also get 36 hours of Paid time away from work per year for sick leave or whatever you want to use it for (Pilot vacations are 45 hours paid a week)
So if you do the math the more you work the more you make. If you worked 40 hours a week in New England or Florida for 50 weeks you make $26,500 a year. If you worked 40 Hours a week in the Carribean or Guam for 50 weeks you would make $31,600 a year ........... ........
The best way to make money at Cape Air Flying the 402 is to work hard and go south every winter where you can work over 40 hours a week and make more money per hour.
