Just wondering if anyone knows if they are hiring or not. Also, I have seen their mins as 1500 tt 200 multi and an ATP. Are those set in stone? I also saw those times for captains on a jobs board so I was wondering if those were only the captain positions or for everyone. I have 1230 hours, 93 multi and I'm not old enough for the ATP ride yet, so that's why I'm wondering about how set they are on the mins. I also have some good contacts who are ex-Cape Air, so I was wondering if anyone knows for sure whether that would help.

BTW, heres a glimmer of hope (we need as many glimmers as we can get right now, its a little dark out there). A fellow CFI got hired by Great Lakes, and he has just a little less time than me. So there are paths still open out there.

They've been hiring for the last couple months. Most of the hires going to the caribbean for the winter. The mins aren't exactly set in stone. I know a number of pilots who did not have their mins but flew mail runs or repo flights as a FO to build the necessary time. I believe if they sponsor you for an ATP they require a one year commitment. It's certainly worth sending them a resume particularly if you have a few connections.

Mr. I.

The mins are 1500tt with 200 multi with an ATP, for Captains on the regular paxs flights.
The cargo flights (lot of fish) and mail flights are flown by guys with less hrs (only a couple of guys are doing these flights).

(You can also be an FO part of the time if not doing cargo or mail flights.)
Until a captain gets their 100hrs in type they will need an F.O. in instrument Conditions.

They also will sometimes let you do your ATP ride the same time as your company checkride, a DE or a FAA guy just rides along, and ask for whatever he whants to see after the company check airman is finished (if there is anything left).

Its a good time, and you will get some of the best IFR expierence you can get, more ifr then most places but a lot of nice vfr days too. The ifr time you will gain here will definietly show when you decide to move on.
I still have a lot of friends there, i was there for a year and got 1000hrs of multi and some ifr expierence that i would not tradein for anything.

Good Luck and Fly Safe
