I have no strong opinion either way, but I preferred Candler to Acey for phonic reasons. But if cash is as tight as management says, I am surprised they spent the money to change the callsign.
Since we are burning the mother down, I figured I would throw a little gas on the fire.

I believe we have more important things to worry about than some dang call sign. There, you wanted someone to bite, I did, it's done. lol

I am glad they are changing it back and I dont even work for ASA

I never liked Candler, probably because I started when we were still Acey (the first time) and Candler was always "that stupid new callsign" in my mind. The guys who started under Candler may very well feel the same way about Acey.

I'm glad to be back to Acey. But then I was here for it originally. Those that grew up on Candler would tend to like Candler better.

The cost of changing comes from having to reprogram the flight plan computers. A GO rat on my jumpseat said she couldn't figure out why they were spending the money 'cause it cost thousands of dollars to reprogram the computer that feeds the flight plans to ATC with the ACY vs. CAA. Then they had to do it again to make it ASQ. Dummies. Didn't they know ACY is an airport? How confusing.

I still haven't figured out why they didn't bring ASE back like it used to be. Atlantic South East: A-S-E, pronounced "Acey", get it?

I thought "Can't Handle Her" was a great callsign, especially for 79%N1.....

Bye Bye--General Lee
