Thanks ahead of time:

I am currently working on my instrument currency this month. I have not flown for 3 years, I do not work for any flight operation and I do not have my CFIs. I have about 1600 total hours with 150 hours of multi-engine. These are my questions:

Can I still get hired by Ameriflight?

How do I qualify?

Will I be able to handle the training since I have not flown for awhile?

What is the training and interview like?

Once I get hired, what is the daily schedule like? Lifestyle? What the typical routes from Burbank?

I live in Riverside. What are the chances of switching from Burbank base to the Ontario base?

Thanks!

yes

get instrument current and apply

brush up on the far/aim and your instrument skills and study what they tell you to study

go to aviationinterviews.com and get the gouge (worked for me) and the training is not hard if you learn the flows quickly and pay attention.

routes from bur in the pa31 go to vgt and myf normally. get weekends off, but the newbie schedule blows. plan on sleeping during the day. but schedules seem to get better with some seniority.

if you do good you could be in a be99 in ont at about three months

hope this helps

Thanks for your help! I just a few more questions! Thanks ahead!

Thank you for your help Hootie!

Is there any way I can find out the typical scheduling or work routines?

How is management? Are the friendly? Easy to get along with? Who should I watch for?

Has the work environment improved?

How many hours of flight time can one average a day?

When do the benefits kick in?

Once I send my resume, how soon will I hear from them? How long will I wait for an interview? And go to ground school?

You mentioned I can be transferred to the be99 in 3 months. How do I accomplish that. Is that based on seniority? What are ONT routes?

That's pretty much it for now. Otherwise, thanks again.

Happy Holidays!

I was away from aviation for 4.5 years when I got hired by AMF. Prior to getting hired I spent some time getting instrument current on a sim with visuals. I also spent an hour or two with a CFII in a 177RG. I picked up about 4 or 5 hours delivering a Beechcraft from the Bay Area to somewhere in Socal. Training at AMF was still some work after being away from flying so long. It's a good way to get back into flying.

6 or 7 months after starting with AMF I was in ground school for my current employer. 5.5 years later I'm still employed and have been enjoying the left seat for a few years. I was fortunate. Some of my friends went to other airlines where things didn't work out quite so well.

Best of luck.

Don't just get current; get very proficient at ifr flying. Their most basic aircraft is the navajo. You don't just have to get hired you have to pass training.
