Hey,

I'm sure you've read a lot of messages like this already but I have tried everywhere else and was wondering if there was someone nice who could help me out.

Basically, I've been looking for a flying job for about 6 months now. I've tried everywhere, local flight schools, corporate, international carriers. The only response I've gotten was from Cathay Pacific. I didn't proceed with Cathay due to advice posted from other members on this page about CX's labor dispute.

Therefore, not only have I not had any interviews, other than CX, I haven't had anyone, NOT ONE company (other than CX), call me back.

SO, basically, I'm asking if any of you could help me out. I'm looking for any type of flying job, anywhere in the world.
If you know someone willing to help me out, please email me on here and we could work out the details on how I can send me resume/CV.

Oh, as for regionals/commuters. I haven't flown that much in the last 90 days and 6 months. So, commuters aren't considering me because of my lack of flight time. That's why I wanted to instruct for a bit, to get my currency up.

Oh yeah, I've checked climbto350.com and all the other job resources.

If anyone could help, I'd really appreciate it.

Your boat resembles mine, and the prospect of moving from a C150 to an A330 causes me physical pain just to contemplate. But - we cannot destroy the profession we've fought so hard for. We shall not kill the goose as it lays the golden egg. Consider the realities of living in a foreign land, being hated by every last one of your fellow crewmembers except (and perhaps including, I dunno) the old Ansett scabs, making below industry average money and perhaps scuttling most all future career opportunities. Really, being reviled by coworkers must quickly remove all pleasantess from the experience. I'll go bang around the pattern a few dozen more times, if perhaps with a twinge of envy.
 
I agree . . .

Eleven years ago, my father, of blessed memory, suggested that I apply to Eastern. Eastern was hiring "replacement" pilots (you know what that means) at the time. He thought that Eastern would be a good opportunity for someone like me. I told him no way. One does not cross a line, despite any "promises" a company might make that it will keep you on after a strike ends. I should mention that my father was staunchly anti-union. I was, and still am, 180 degrees opposed to his union views.

Gotta keep trying. All things cometh to he who waiteth (while he worketh like hell while he waiteth).

If you are interested in foreign flying, Captain Mac at Flight Crews International maintains contacts with foreign operators and usually knows where the bodies are buried abroad. Moreover, there's no bull about Captain Mac. He is one of the few gentlemen I met in this business and will give it to you straight.

Unfortunately this is not a good time in aviation to be looking for a job due to the thousands of furloughed pilots out there, myself included. According to your profile, you're right where you should be unless you've been hired due to a personal reference and not qualifications. I had over 3000 hours by the time I got my first Part 135 job back in '95 because at the time, all there was for low time pilots was pay for training programs which I could not afford(with some exceptions) and there were still lots of ex-Eastern and Pan-Am pilots available. You might want to check-out part 135 piston operators, as they still seem to be the "least desirable" positions other than flight instructor jobs, although your time barely qualifies you for that. Hang-in there, no one said it would be easy to have the most desirable job in the world.

By the way, if you're willing to work anywhere in the world, I would consider Cathy-Pacific if they've offered you an interview, as long as it doesn't involve crossing a picket line.
