Can anybody give me more information on Ameristar Jet Charter ..They operate out of Addison (ADS) out of Dallas..Their stability & service..
Thanx in advance..

I have a few friends at Ameristar and a friend who is personal friends with the owners. From what they all say, they are very stable and continuing to hire for the rest of this year. Plus the pay is pretty darn good. My friend flew the Lear 24/25's making 43k for the first 14 months, then upgraded to the Falcon 20 and is making 64k and the upgrade time to the 737 is about 14 months and that's over 100k per year and that is all as a first officer. The schedule is out for a year with some good time off and 3 long stretches off time off throughout the year. I hear they are pretty competitive as far as hours are concerned, but the people i know there really enjoy it.

i think your friend can't add or u got your info wrong there is noway u make 100000k there unless you are flying 2000 hrs a year there.

Funny a guy I know has been there three years as a DC-9 Capt, never made close to those numbers so I have been told. Still hiring street Capts for the LJ and DA-20's?

Yes, still hiring street capts who have time in type. Pay stated above is accurate. 100K+ is definately possible on 121 side. Upgrade from DOH to 737 f.o. running about 4-5 years. I believe there are 6 737s now.

I worked for AJI a couple of years ago, guarantee pay for DA-20 and Learjet FO was 2000 a month, milage over 10,500 was .05 per mile, and perdiem was 36. a day, Capt guarantee was 3000 a month and .10 a mile over 10,500. FOs average 30-40K, and Capts. could see 60-80K I heard.

Scedule was 10 on 4 off, once you leave YIP don't plan on seeing it again for 10 days.

Edit: If they needed you to work on your days off and you wanted to, the pay was an extra 200. per day.

Don't know anything about the 121 side, the 737 business must be good if there are 6 now, thought they only had two, are they all -200s?

Does anyone know if Stacy Muth still works for AJI in Addison?

That description fits. She is/was T.W.'s right hand gal, pretty high up in the management structure.

I think that's what she was alluding too! You know those types of operations don't keep "accurate" flight and duty time records!

I swear you are the biggest tool ever. Based on your profile I'd guess you don't know a single thing about 135 or flying freight. Just remember that when you get your paycheck you could have made 2x flying on demand freight. Maybe you can build some time over at CHQ so you can meet Ameristar or JetUSA mins.

Everything in this thread is bunch of crap. Everyone is going too far either pro or con. The truth lies somewhere in the middle.

Correction-Youre right, reread Flygirl's post 43K in 14 months sounds accurate, but pay for Lear and Falcon are the same (actually probably earn more $ in LR bc more miles per flight hour) The 64K figure is accurate for a captain on the LR or Falcon but not a Falcon FO.

Heres the hard info- 10 on the alternating 4/5 days off. Captain upgrades 12-18 months for people w/o prior jet exp. 737 upgrades 4-5 years from DOH.

QOL- its on-demand freight and definately not for everyone. Great group of pilots that make the best of winters in YIP and summers in LRD.

No thanks, I'll stick with my shiny, new 170 vs. some old, grimy Falcon 20.

Spoken like the naive 1600 hour wonder that you are. Maybe the truth of the matter is that you can't handle flying something that actually makes you think. Oh yeah ERAU didn't teach you that did it.
