If your job was spent 24/7 in a car and you needed to get out take a break for food, piss, whatever etc. what are you supposed to look for a legal parking spot for 3 hours when you probably won't find one.....be realistic we let them park illegally so they can do their job more efficiently instead of wasting time looking for a slot to park during their 30 min lunch break.

Kinda like when us pilots sneak to the front of the security line.

Being born and raised in NYC, I can tell you a little history about the "NYPD Traffic Enforcement" unit.

For many years they were refered to as "brownies" - the cars and uniforms were brown with white lettering.

For many many years, these people never got respect from motorists. Many times they were assaulted, intimidated and threatened.

One day, NYC decided to grant them a somewhat higer status in terms of protection and began painting the cars in a dark blue. they also appended the word "NYPD" to make their title seem more offical and to give motorists an authoritarian and powerful or police-like impression of them.

I hate to say it but these are some of the laziest city workers around. They are usually uneducated, slothy and not too bright. Illegally parked city vehicles from the various city agencies are an incredibly common thing here.

There have been many reports of these abuses by city vehicles and the city has made it clear that it is illegal for these individuals to do this, but nothing really happens.

As much as I hate the "Jimmy Justice" ilk and the dipsticks at NBC for giving him a voice that he doesn't deserve, I have to agree with him.

I was a cop for five years and when you're driving around in that squad car, you're living in a fishbowl. Obeying the laws that you enforce was not only required in order to not be a hypocrite but seems just straight up common sense.

I constantly see officers in the PHX area making illegal lane changes, not using turn signals, rolling through (or just straight blowing) stop signs, crossing solid white lines, and just doing otherwise unsafe stuff.

It's just bad for business.

Isn't this the 'Majors' forum? What in the heck are we doing talking about Cops? In the old days you talked about airplanes and Pu$$y. And every fourth year, contracts were a discussion. Is this what happens when you grow up on glass, laptops and Starbucks? Bring on Age 55 retirement! PLEEZ!
