Need some help from creative minds. My company was just approved for an FAA/ICAO call sign and designator. The problem is that all our requests were used by other companies. We're a aerial survey company up to our necks in film products.

Any suggestions?

Mike

I think this has turned into a competition!

our final selections are:

Topo
Sensor
Platform
Image
Optic

Centerfold
Photomat - remember the poor highschool kids that had that job in the kiosk in the middle of the parking lot where you dropped off your film?
Seymour - Robin Williams character from "One Hour Photo"...
SeeMore - Just a play off one above

optic is the best of those choices, but i'm not really a fan of any of them.

Why not use something that would make people laugh?? It's only pilots and controllers hearing it anyway.........

mac-n-cheese (obviously refering to timebuilding jobs pay scales)
FoodStamp (see above)
BoredomFlight
Request (although I think SWA might have that one in reserve:))

Well...the pilot group and owner decided on "Topo" as a callsign and "TOE" as a designator. Not my favorite, but it was the only one that represented our operation.

hah...well TOPO was a failure. The controllers called us "HOBO", "TOEHO", "BOBO" and the best was "TADPOLE". Of course, with a three letter designator of "TOE", most controllers thought that it was a VFR callsign of Toe.

So...we changed had to change it. We tried to get FOCUS and OPTICS, but they were taken. ICAO selected our last choice of "FOOT PRINT". The good news is that is an aerial survey term, but it does sound alittle funny.

oh well....
