The Toronto Port Authority, the federal agency that owns and operates the downtown airport, recently agreed to add 90 new take off and landing spots.

Porter secured 44 of new slots, while Air Canada was given 30 slots and U.S.-based Continental Airlines Inc (CAL.N) was awarded 16. Air Canada and Continental could start flying out of Billy Bishop as early as December.
