Can't confirm reports but heard from the second floor during PIC class that Ayer, Saretsky were talking with both CAL and UAL about merging after DAL/NWA. Reasons included overlaping routes with UAL on the west coast, CAL and UAL pacific routes and competing with VA. Like I said I can't confirm but very interesting none the less.
