Heard it today at the training center. CAL will get 35 additional 737NGs over the next 2 years, all growth for now.

Whoa, easy Cochise. Is this the same rumor that has the 35 new -800's replacing the -300's that are getting the cargo door mod and flying in Central and South America with COPA pilots?
 
Saw that same rumor on Airliners.net, supposedly that it came from someone at Boeing. Hope it is true, but won't believe until the offical release and then maybe.

I couldn't agree with you more but with this union leadership, we would be lucky if the flying was even offered to the CAL pilots.

Not a rumor....very true although a little off. I think the numbers are 6-9 in 2006 along with 2 (maybe 5) 777-200's. There are 34-36 737-800's arriving in 2007. Got this from LK himself. Asked if these were replacement aircraft for the -300,500....stated unsure for now.
Where we are going to put all those airplanes is a mystery....

Going to take flying away from Express? Now there's a rumor!! After the CPA runs out, 73's taking flying away from Jungle Jets, yeah....
