Hey, I'm trying to make a decision on whether to stay on the 737 or switch to the 777. Can anyone send me the NYC 777 FO base award file? Trying to see what kind of schedule my seniority would hold. Thanks

If you are asking about monthly awarded schedule reports they are on PBS forum. For every BES, every month.
Great way to see what kind of life to expect if you decide to transition/transfer/upgrade.

It looks like if you want to fly a widebody as an FO you really only have a chance at EWR, unless you have 737 Capt seniority but would rather fly the 757/767/777. IAH looks very senior on anything other than the 737.

Hey Lee, you forgot to tell us how the selection of F/O widebodies is better at DAL and how upgrades will stagnate at CAL because of age 65 and how every WN overnight is in AMA, and LUBBBBB (sounds like lube, huh?)

seniorities of 3 years or less are holding IAH 757/767 and are bottom lineholders. good deal if you live in base. kinda tough if you don't.

EWR widebody FO is definitely more varied in all areas. a wonderful deal if you live in base. maddening if you don't. however, the EWR 756 base has late check-ins and livable release times from what i've heard.

for me...i'll stay on the 737 and let others enjoy the spoils of int'l travel. i see plenty and enjoy most of it.

Hey, I was just making an observation. Looks like EWR is a lot more junior than IAH, and that there are very few widebody FO slots available at IAH. You seem like a real dork. Yeah, I was right with that.

I think that is great. I was just pointing out that there seems to be a lot more widebody opportunity in EWR for junior people. If you live near there, like in Allentown, you probably have great variety in flying. And, your 737s have great variety from IAH, doing South and Central America, and all the way up to ANC.

Boy...are we toucheeeeee!!!

PHXFLYR:cool:

I'm thinking most are waiting for the upgrade. Some might go to the 777 because it's suppose to be really nice with PBS....like 19 or so days off. NICE!!!

I kind of expected to see more captain slots on this bid between the additional airplanes and retirements.

I don't think it has as much to do with PBS as the type of flying it does. The schedules are pretty much the same as they were with hard lines as far as days off go.

Shhhh...... Will you stop baiting people senior to me from bidding the 777? If anyone asks, it's a horrible job. The legs are inhumanely long, the crews are mean, we all suffer from raging bouts of "Delhi Belly," bunk beds are just a rumor as we frequently ride in center-seat coach between extra wide passengers that the gate agents are required to select... Bad, bad, bad... Stay away. Listen to Pocono. :p

No kidding.

I think it is about to get very bad and stagnant at CAL very, very shortly.

As soon as the age 60 rule is changed, I pity the pilots just recently hired at CAL. I pity the fools :-) LOL

Lets see Continental has 30 737 aircraft coming online next year. 24 737s for 2009 with a few 787s as well, 210 retirements next year.

How many retirements or new aircraft is Express getting. Those extra planes from Delta won't help you out in IAH.
How long have you been on reserve or when are you going to get a hard line? I know you are an 11/04 hire at earliest..I think you need a snickers. Not going anywhere for a while..Thats you.

We do have 30 CAs leaving per month for CAL. so that should help you out. Fortunately your not one of them. And not by choice.

I pity the ones just hired at Express. They might have to fly with your ignorant self.

I am not going to comment on CAL much anymore. I think it is fairly obvious that the place sucks. And the crews keep getting screwed even more every day, without much hope things will ever get better.

When I heard that the Stivala guy, or whatever his name is decided to switch over to the company after being your head union negotiator, I actually felt bad for you guys.

I am so glad that I turned down that job offer, and you CAL guys can continue to bash me all you want for turning down the job. I really don't care anymore. I feel bad for you regardless of how you feel about me.

ONCE AGAIN SO MUCH FOR NOT COMMENTING ON CAL, PLEASE GET A LIFE. BY THE WAY MOST OF THE GUYS ON THIS SITE HAVE PLENTY OF FRIENDS AT SWA, FEDEX, AND UPS AND YOUR NAME, WHILE NOT KNOWN EVERYWHERE, IS CERTAINLY KNOWN AT CAL. GOOD LUCK GETTING A JOB.

This bid only accounts for 96 retirements. The remaining 300+ slots are attributed to growth. Doesnt' seem too stagnent to me, especially when you consider that this bid has come out after CAL announced that they were slowing their growth for '08.

Thanks for you concern, however. I'm touched.

I was really hoping for a SWA interview. Any idea about how long it will be until they start it back up?

My bff was just hired there, and is getting her type next month. How long wil she be swimming in the pool?

TIA
How's that SWA interview working out for you? Hmmm, stagnant comes to mind. The opportunities are slowly fading away.... uh oh!!!!

AISI YOYO unless your BFF can help you in a few years but DHYB.

HA-HA

Alright, stupid question time,

I see that bidding is for 737, but pay is different for 737-800. The whole SN vs. LN stuff. Do you guys fly both? Is it an override for a trip on the 800? I'm interested in IAH stuff, mainly because I desire to live west.

Actually I think you are incorrect, speaking of the age 65 rule change at CAL. If age 65 happens it will provide 5 yrs time for many pilots to make up for lost salary by working 5 extra years. However, at CAL the pension was frozen and not lost. Therefore a pilot will not benefit by working to 65 b/c of the mortality tables used by the pension. Basically working past 60 may not benefit a CAL pilot b/c it starts to devalue the retirement payout. So for those who decide to work past 60 would have no reason to work past 62 (the approx age where the amount earned and amount lost from the pension are almost equal and after that you lose more from retirement than you could make working.)

So many airlines will surely stagnate UAL, AA, DAL, NWA, SWA with 65, it won't be nearly as stagnant at CAL&AA.

Good post, indeed the airlines where pilots lost pensions will stagnate more.
