I don't care how long it takes either. How did rushing to get a deal work out last time?

We got duty rigs back which CAL has never had and ended the Ted B scale. It was a very successful take back.

I remember reading,"The Loan is Due." How is the 2005 take back doing at CAL? Yea that is what I thought.

For the people that want a new union, what exactly will that do? The people that are in the leadership positions in UAL alpa and CAL alpa will just turn around and run for leadership in this new union. If the same people are in charge but under a different name how is that going to change anything?

I don't remember being able to vote in our MEC leadership. Thats exactly what is wrong with the whole thing. Its just like government special interest groups, just on a more localized scale. WE the dues paying members are what make up the union, not the MEC members who think and act like demigods. I'm tired of being told how to think, where to think and when to think by a union leadership that clearly isn't getting it done.

If you view that as a big win, I'd rather wait. "Getting back" duty rigs, which for the most part are domestic specific, and then outsourcing the lion's share of domestic flying doesn't strike me as a win.

It more progress than sitting there with your thumb up your butt hoping for a better deal tomorrow when you could have gotten something and a better deal tomorrow.

CAL is two years past it amendable date with nothing to show for it. CAL could have signed a crap improvement deal with a two year date and started getting some improvement today like they still are doing.

I'll take retro on two years instead of negotiating from a crap starting point. If you think signing a POS deal under a time crunch would have sped this process up, you're delusional. We could have had the Delta contract and we said no thanks, we could have signed off on the Joint Venture agreement and we said no thanks. See a pattern here?

We have something they want (single operating certificate) and it's going to cost them up the a&& to get it.

And exactly how long did that take and what exactly did UAL give up for that? Please. Your broken record diatribe is laughable. You seem to expect that since CAL's timeline hasn't met your expectations that the fat lady has sung. If you wish to continue to throw in the towel, so be it. Allah be pissed upon that you don't work for CAL. What's really sad is your sentiment is exactly that of an 83-84 hire; the patience of a 2 year old and the whining of a 90 year old living next door to an airport.

And for the record, the loan is still due. I'm still willing to put in the time to try and secure what we desire, require, and deserve at CAL.

It will simply mean the ALPO regionals will not have to pay for a strike against themselves.

Would you throw 7% of your pay to someone to take your job?

Thats what UAL/CAL wants the regionals to do?

Rules, no red tape, recall instsntly. Pay published monthly. Ftfpl published monthly. Council can/will make and solicit new resolutions. All resolutions voted electronically by entire membership. All elections published, manadatory voting. Recall vote immediately, special meeting within 3 days. Union job MAXIMUM 2 years, then re election required.

You can see as just a tip of iceburg. Bottom line, ALPA as we knew it is done after UAL/CAL merger complete.

How is returning furloughed UAL pilots to their jobs that were outsourced to non-union and Teamsters pilots going to hurt ALPA regionals?
