1. Can you pass the sim without buying sim time?

2. How many pilots are they going to hire in 2008?

3. How long might it take to hold a line in the 737 IAH?

4. Where can I go to learn about CAL's retirement plan? Highlights?

Thanks!

1) Yes, but not reccomended if you really want the job.
2)This number keeps changing with the age 65 rule. It seems the company is going to evaluate how many guys are staying before the put hard numbers out. I do know that for the short term we are reducing new hire classes to 8/week from 16/week satrting in JAN.
3)You can get to IAH on the 737 within 3-6 months typically, lines have gone to guys as low as 95% in the BES.
4)not a whole lot on the web. The current retirement plan for a new hire is a "B-fund" where they put 12.75% on top of your monthly gross income in a schwab account that you manage. There is a 401K set up as well through schwab with no company match at this time.

Actually we do have a match but it is tied to profit. We received 2% in 2006, 2.75% in 2007, and could receive up to 2% in 2008. The percentages are based on your entire w2 earnings from July 1 to Jun 30th with respect to a year.
