I always thought drinking and posting was bad.

The new bad...

...spanking it while looking a pictures of CAL 757's.

When you are legal for reserve callout at 6am and are called at 0601am to be released into rest for a 1800 showtime, there is a Quality of Life issue~

But times are changing... QoL will change for the better~
Just gonna take another year of so..

I also think this is easily a safety of flight issue. To sleep all night, then "rest" all day but not get any rest, then fly all night, could be unsafe. I don't think anyone on the ASAP committee would question a fatigue call in this situation. And I don't think the company would question it if you called in fatigued promptly at 1600 to give scheduling time to call a B reserve for the 1900 push.*

*if they don't have a reserve, that is not the pilot's problem. In fact, if everyone who got double pumped called in fatigued as a matter of course, then they might actually add a reserve pilot daily to cover this. Next, they would probably stop double pumping because they would learn through this behavior modification program that anyone who gets double pumped calls in fatigued so they'd just skip this step altogether and just call a B reserve 3 hours before push.

You are 100% correct.
I contacted the Union and filed a complaint. I did get to sleep again and did feel fine at departure and alittle tired upon arrival.

In my case, I knew I'd probably get a late trip on the date in question due to currency issues and tried to have my reserve time changed the day before. Company didn't work with me.

DARMA~

The funny/lucky/weird thing was-
The next day, the inbound flight had to divert due to wx.
Had that been my flight, we would have been done at the divert.
I would not have been in a condition to fly another leg.

Sooner of later, things like that are going to happen.
Worse will be if there is an incident.
God forbid if there is ever an accident due to a double pump.
